هذا الكتاب يقدم للقارئ معرفة شاملة لكافة انواع صعوبات الكلام سواء ما كان منها لأسباب عضوية أو وظيفية. كما يقدم معرفة متخصصة يفيد منها اختصاصيو النطق والتخاطب ويفيد منها الوالدان وكل افراد الأسرة . ولما كان التواصل عن طريق النطق بالألفاظ بالغ الحيوية للأداء الوظيفى للكائنات البشرية يصبح من الأمور بالغة الأهمية ضرورة أن تكتشف اضطرابات النطق واللغة فى وقت مبكر وأن يبدأ الطفل بتنفيذ برامج علاجية ملائمة . ومع اختلاف نوع الصعوبة لدى كل حالة من حالات صعوبة الكلام فان الغالبية العظمى من هذه الحالات قابلة للعلاج وغالبا ما يكون ممكناً تحسين مهارات التواصل عند هؤلاء إن لم يكن علاجها تماماً.
