"أحمد الصافي النجفي" (1897- 1977) واحد من شُعراء العرب البارزين في عصرنا، أقام في لبنان موطن أمه ردحاً طويلاً من الزمن، قضى منه اثنتي عشر سنة متواصلة في فندق على شاطئ بحر صيدا، وقد ربطته بصاحب هذا الفندق صداقة وطيدة فباح له بالكثير من أسراره وخفايا سيرته وأحداثها الأدبيّة والسياسيّة والوطنيّة، فدوّن الفندقي ذكريات "الصافي" هذه، وتركها مخطوطة.
وهذا الكتاب يقدّم النص الكامل لذكريات "الصافي النجفي" مسبوقة بدراسة عنه عنوانها: جدليّة الجاهليّة والإسلام والمسيحيّة عند "النجفي"، كتبها محقق المذكرات "د. لويس صليبا".
ويتضمّن الكتاب في قسمه الثالث النص الكامل لترجمة "الصافي" لرباعيات الخيام بالإضافة إلى العديد من نصوصه الشعرية والنثرية غير المنشورة.
