واستمر الإسهام الثقافي للسريان في سبيله طيلة العصور التالية، وكانت لهم إسهامات جليلة في الثقافة والحضارة. يعرض هذا الكتاب لحياة وأعمال أهم المترجمين والفلاسفة السريان على مر العصور، من مارا الفيلسوف الرواقي في القرن الأول أو الثاني، وصولاً إلى حنين بن إسحق بن حنين في العصر العباسي، وكثيرين بعدهم، مروراً بهياس المترجم، وبولس الفارسي، وأثناسيوس البلدي، وجورج أسقف العرب، وطيماثاوس الأول صديق الخلفاء.
