يتضمن محاولة لاكتشاف إعجاز القرآن الكريم في تشريع الميراث، وتأسيسًا على الإعجاز الذي اكتشف تضمن الكتاب محاولة لتوظيف هذا الإعجاز في المجالات التي تعمل عليها العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية على نحو عام وفي المجالات التي تعمل عليها العلوم الاقتصادية على نحو خاص.
المنهج الذي اتبع لاكتشاف الإعجاز الذي عمل عليه هذا الكتاب هو منهج علم المناسبة، وهذا العلم أحد العلوم القرآنية وبمقتضاه لا تدرس الآية في القرآن الكريم مفصولة عما قبلها وعما بعدها وكذا الموضوع وكذا السورة وإنما تدرس مترابطة معًا، ومن علماء علوم القرآن الكريم السابقين من قدم دراسة أثبت فيها أن القرآن الكريم من أول آية في سورة الفاتحة إلى آخر آية في سورة الناس مترابط بالترتيب الذي عليه الآن، ولا يمكن تغيير آية من موضعها أو سورة من موضعها. إعمالاً لعلم المناسبة تضمن الكتاب دراسة لآيات سورة النساء من الآية الأولى إلى الآية الثانية والأربعين، وقد اقتصر الكتاب على هذه الآيات لمقتضيات البحث.
اكتشف البحث أن القرآن الكريم ربط تشريع الميراث بوحدة النوع الإنساني وحماية الفئات الضعيفة في المجتمع، كما ربطه بالأخلاق لحماية الأسرة وأقام منظومة للحقوق والواجبات المتوازنة بين كل من الرجل والمرأة، وأخيرًا ربط الميراث بإقامة مجتمع الإحسان. كما أثبت البحث أن تشريع الميراث على هذا النحو وبتفاعلاته في مجالات العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية يعجز الإنسان أن يأتي بمثله.
