إن الإسلام دين ودولة، نظام وتطبيق، منهج ودستور، قانون وشريعة، هدفه حفظ لحمة المجتمع وسداه، والحفاظ على استقراره وتماسكه عن طريق توفير العدالة والأمن والحرية، عبر الالتزام بالنظام والتقيد بالقوانين التي شرعها رب العالمين، والسلوك على الطريقة التي سنها النبي الكريم (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
إن الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا يسلّط الأضواء على مبادئ الفقه الإنساني في الشريعة الإسلامية، ويثبت أن القانون الإسلامي قد سبق كل القوانين الدولية في بيان أسس ومبادئ حقوق الإنسان، وأنسنة العلاقات الدولية.
كما أنه يعالج بدقة مراحل نشأة القانون الدولي الإنساني وفضل الشريعة الإسلامية في وضع قواعد الحرب الدقيقة وأحكام صيانة الأبرياء، وحمايتهم، وتوضيح حقوق الأسرى والجرحى - ما يُسمى في مصطلح الفقهاء بالسِّير - أو تنظيم العلاقات الدولية، والتطبيقات العملية لهذه الأحكام في حياة النبي الكريم (ًصلى الله عليه وسلم) ومغازه وسيره.
كما يقارن بالتفصيل بين مبادئ الفقه الدولي الإسلامي وضوابطه وبين قواعد القانون الدولي الإنساني. وهو من تأليف الدكتور محمد أحمد غازي الذي عرفته الأوساط العلمية بتحقيقاته العلمية وآرائه السديدة وأفكاره النيِّرة.
