يتكون هذا الكتاب من دراستين تعالجان جوانب مختلفة من شعر الشيخ "محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم" أما الأولى فهي "بوح الروح" للدكتور عبد الرضا علي، وتتناول الأبعاد الموضوعية والظواهر الفنية في العشر، إذ نراها تتوقف عند الاقتباس، والتناص، والقصة الشعرية، والإيقاع. وأما الثانية فتختار جانب السمات السردية، وعناصر لوحة الوصف في الشعر، وهي للأستاذ حاتم الصكر، وكذلك تولي عنايتها بعض الزوايا الهامة مثل الموروث، والحس الشعبي وتجربة الشاعر، وبنية اللوحة الوصفية وغيرها. وقد وجهت كلتا الدراستين وجهها إلى النصوص ذاتها، في محاولة منها لكشف فضاءاتها الشعرية، والدخول إلى عوالمها الرحبة.
