-يأتي هذا الكتاب من ضمن صحائف كتبها الدكتور الشيخ "يوسف القرضاوي" إثر دعوى تلقاها من جمعية علماء المسلمين في الجزائر، لإحياء ذكرى الإمام: محمد البشير الإبراهيمي، علامة الجزائر، وذلك بمناسبة مرور أربعين سنة على وفاته.
يقول الشيخ القرضاوي أن الإمام محمد البشير الإبراهيمي هو: "أحد أئمة الإصلاح والتجديد في العصر الحديث، ومن عايشه واستمع إليه خطيباً ومحاضراً ومدرساً ومحدثاً، أو قرأ مقالاته وبحوثه كاتباً مبدعاً، وباحثاً متعمقاً، سواء قرأ ذلك في حياته أم بعد مماته: أدرك تمام الإدراك أننا أمام رجل مصلح يعرف ماذا يريد من إصلاح لوطنه وشعبه وأمته؟ وكيف الطريق إلى تحقيق ما يريد؟ ويملك من الأدوات والمؤهلات (العقلية والعلمية والنفسية والخلقية والبيانية): ما يُمكنه من تحقيق هدفه الذي يصبو إليه".
-تأتي أهمية دراسة الفكر الإصلاحي لدى الإمام محمد البشير الإبراهيمي كونه وحداً من أهم رجال النهضة الجزائرية وشريكاً بها مع مؤسس الجمعية الشيخ عبد الحميد بن باديس، فقد كان نائبه في حياته، وخليفته بعد وفاته.
يتمحور هذا الكتاب حول خمسة نقاط:1-الإسلام والعروبة: أساساً ومنطلقاً، 2-الوحدة والحرية (أو التوحيد والتحرير): محوراً وهدفاً، 3-التوعية والتربية: منهاجاً وطريقاً، 4-العمل الجماعي: ضرورةً وشرطياً، 5-الأمة العربية والإسلامية: ساحة وميداناً.
-أما أروع ما قاله البشير الإبراهيمي: "أيها العرب، أيها المسلمون! إن فلسطين وديعة محمد عندنا، وأمانة عمر في ذمتنا، وعهد الإسلام في أعناقنا، فلئن أخذها اليهود منا ونحن عصبة إنا إذاً لخاسرون".
