وجد فن الإلقاء - وهو جزء من الجانب الشفهي والصوتي للغة -قبل أن توجد الكتابة، وهذا يؤكده تاريخ الإنسان على الأرض، فهو يتعلم الاستماع والكلام قبل أن يتعلم القراءة والكتابة، ويتعلم الإلقاء ومهارات التواصل الشفوي قبل أن تنضج يداه ويستطيع بها إمساك الريشة أو القلم أو أي أداة للكتابة، ولا نبالغ إذا قلنا الثقافة الإنسانية (ثقافة صوتية - سمعية) وأن تأثير الكلمة في وضعها الصوتي يفوق بكثير تأثيرها وهي مكتوبة بحروف متراصدة جامدة لا تتحرك بسرعة الصوت ولا تصل إلى مدى الكلمة المنطوقة التي تفتح العقول وتؤثر في القلوب، وقد جعلنا ذلك نعيد التساؤل حول أهمية (مهارات فن الإلقاء والتقديم) وما يصاحبها من مقومات وآليات يمكننا أن نستخدمها في كل مناحي الحياة حولنا، في مجالات المعرفة وفي ميادين العلم والتعليم، وفي السياسة وفي الإعلام، في الدعوة والوعظ والخطابة، وفي التدريب والنشاط الثقافي، ونعيد طرح التساؤل عن كيفية أو إمكانية أن نكتسب هذه المهارات ونتدرب عليها لكي نستخدمها في المواقف المختلفة من حياتنا.
