قد يكون هناك أدب خاص بالنخبة من الناس تعبر به عن مفاهيمها في الحياة وتذهب به مذاهب شتى في التسميات. وقد يكون هناك أدب خاص بالعامة من الناس وهو يتمثل بالحكايات والأمثال والخرافات والأساطير والأغاني والأزجال ويعرف باسم الأدب الشعبي. ولكن ما دامت هنالك أفكار وعواطف وهموم واعتبارات مشتركة عند جميع الناس، فلماذا لا يكون هناك إذاً "أدب ناس لجميع الناس". تحت هذا العنوان يمكن تصنيف مضمون الأعمال الكاملة لسلام الراسي وهي عبارة عن أربعة مجلدات الأول منها ضمّ مجموعة من القصص الشعبية الواقعية جمعها الكاتب عن ألسنة الناس واختار عنواناً لها وهو "لئلا تضيع-في الزوايا خبايا". وضمّ المجلد الثاني مجموعة من الأقوال التي يستعملها العامة من الناس في أحاديثهم وهي عبارة عن كلام يعبق بجمال الفكر والحكمة والأدب وجاء المجلد تحت عنوان "حكي قرايا وحكي سرايا-شيح بريح". وأما المجلد الثالث فقد ضمّ حكايات حقيقية، وأساطير وخرافات مجدّدة وخبريات وأحاديث على المصاطب وفي الدواوين، وهي من مأثورات التراث اللبناني العشبي وقد حاول الكاتب جهده أن يقرن في كتاباته الجدّ بالدعابة والحكمة بالبساطة متوخياً أسهل السبل إلى ذهن القارئ. وجاء المجلد الثالث تحت عنوان: "الناس بالناس-حيص بيص". وأما المجلد الرابع فقد ضمّ مجموعة من الأشعار والأزجال والحكم والأمثال وذلك في إطار حكايات محكية ومكتوبة بقوالب الأدب الشعبي. وجاء تحت عنوان "الحبل على الجرار-جود من الموجود". ويمكن القول بأن تلك الأعمال ما هي إلا حصيلة جهد سلام الراسي في عمل دؤوب هدفه الحفاظ على ذاكرة وتراث الأدب الشعبي اللبناني، ذاك الحرص جعل من الكاتب علماً من أعلام هذا الفن الأدبي من جهة، ورجل حفظ لأمته جزءاً هاماً من تراثها الذي كاد أن يضيع.
