يعدّ الإمام القاسم مدرسة متميزة في طرق الإقناع، والسيطرة على العقول والقلوب، بما منحه الله تعالى من علم وفهم وأناءة وخلق وسعة صدر. له أسلوب فريد في الحوار والمناظرة، لا يملك معه الخصم إلا التسليم عن قناعة وطيب خاطر، لا يظهر عليه أي علامات الانتصار والفلح، مما قد يضطر خصمه للعناد والمكابرة، يتلطف ويتواضع، منطلقاً في ذلك من قيم الدين، والشعور بالمسؤولية في هداية الخلق. لم يكن التأليف عند الإمام ترفاً فكرياً، أو افتراض شُبه فكرية لا يوجد لها، ومن ثم يتطوع لتنفيذها والردّ عليها، بل كانت فكرة التأليف لديه تنطلق من موضع الحاجة، وبأدنى تأمل في كتبه يتضح صدق ما ندعي، فجميع كتبه ورسائله تجيب على كثير من التساؤلات المثارة في الساحة الإسلامية آنذاك. وتأتي أهمية كتبه ورسائله في أنها نقية الفكرة، تتناول مواضيع ساخنة، أصيلة الحجة.
وفي هذا الكتاب يجمع المحقق "عبد الكريم أحمد جدبان" مجموع كتب ورسائل الإمام "القاسم بن إبراهيم ابن الحسن" والتي بلغ عددها ثلاثين كتاب ورسالة، جاءت في مختلف المعارف الإسلامية مرتباً إياها ترتيباً مبتكراً، فبدأ بالكتب التي ناقش فيها الإمام الطوائف غير الدينية، كالفلاسفة، والملاحدة، والزنادقة، ثم الديانات السماوية (النصارى)، ثم الفرق الإسلامية، المشبهة المجسمة، والقدرية المجبرة والرافضة، وغلاة الروافض. ثم رتب الباقي حسب ترتيب الأصول الخمسة لدى الزيدية: فبدأ بالتوحيد، ثم العدل، ثم النبوة، وما يتبعها من القرآن والإمامة، ثم الجهاد ومهاجرة الظالمين، ثم الحكم والآداب والزهد والعظات، ثم الطهارة والصلاة، ثم المسائل العامة. هذا قد ذيّل كتابه بتحقيق لطيف تركز على: أولاً تصحيح النص، ثانياً: ضبط النص، ثالثاً: توزيع النص، رابعاً: تخريج الآيات القرآنية المذكورة بالكتاب، تخريج الأحاديث المذكورة فيه أيضاً، خامساً: شرح الغريب من الألفاظ والتراكب، معتمداً على معاجم اللغة وكتب العقائد، سادساً: دوّن مقدمة للتعريف بالمؤلف، ودراسة موثقة للكتاب، وضع فهارس عامة للكتب والمواضيع، وآخر للأحاديث.
