فحين يقبل المساء يقفر الطريق....والظلام محنة الغريب
يهب ثلة الرفاق, فض مجلس السمر
"إلى اللقاء" -وافترقنا- "نلتقى مساء غد"
"الرخ مات-فاحترس-الشاه مات!
لم ينجه التدبير, إنى لاعب خطير

اعود منزلى يا صديقتى لمنزلى الصغير
وفى فراش الظنون, لم تدع جفنى ينام
مازال فى عرض الطريق تائهون يظلعون
ثلاثة اصواتهم تنداح فى دوامة السكون
كأنهم يبكون
"لاشئ فى الدنيا جميل كالنساء فى الشتاء"
"الخمر تهتك السرار"
"وتفضح الإزار"
"والشعار....والدثار"
ويضحكون ضحكة بلا تخوم......
ويقفر الطريق من ثغاء هؤلاء
أغنية صغيرة
إليك يا صديقتى أغنية صغيرة
عن طائر صغير
فى عشه واحده الزغيب
وإلفه الحبيب
يكفيهما من الشراب حسوتا منقار
ومن يبادر الغلال حبتان
وفى ظلام الليل يعقد الجناح صرة من الحنان
على وحيده الزغيب
ذات مساء حط من عالى السماء اجدل منهوم
ليشرب الدماء
ويعلك الاشلاء والدماء
وحار طائرى الصغير برهة ثم انتفض....
