"الغروب النحيف" قصائد في الشعر السياسي والإجتماعي للشاعر العراقي وليد جمعة تشكل في مضامينها مصدراً مهماً لإثبات الهوية بالنسبة للذات وإنتمائها للمكان، وما يمثله من تاريخ طويل للذكريات التي لم تشيخ، على الرغم من المنفى والبعد عن الوطن، الذي كان حاضراً في النص، وقد استمد منه الشاعر نسغ الحياة، كما تستمد الشجرة غذائها من التربة، فهو الشاعر الذي وصفه النقاد بأنه صاحب "تجربة متقشفة ومتنسكة"، اعتاشت على شهرتها بين المجتمعات المنفية والمضطهدة والمطرودة من عالمها وتحمل قيمها المعروفة التي تنادي بقيم الحرية والعدالة بين البشرية جمعاء".
اما حميد جمعة (شقيق الشاعر) فقال عنه: "لم يكن قدوة... لم يماثل مثيل... لم يتُب لإله... لم يزل عالقاً في الصراط... يقتفي خطو إبليسه... لم يساير ملك... لم يرو غير ماء الجحيم... نخبةً... نخبةً... لم يساوم غريم... لم يدُر كالفلك... لم يكُن قدوة... لي ولك".
