عبد الغني بن إسماعيل بن عبد الغني النابلسي الدمشقي الحنفي (1050 هـ - 1143 هـ / 1641 - 1731م) شاعر شامي وعالم بالدين والأدب ورحالة مكثر من التصنيف. ولد ونشأ وتصوف في دمشق. قضى سبع سنوات من عمره في دراسة كتابات "التجارب الروحيّة" لِفُقهاء الصوفية. وقد تعدّدت رحلاته عبر العالم الإسلامي، إلى إسطنبول ولبنان والقدس وفلسطين ومصر والجزيرة العربية وطرابلس وباقي البلاد السورية. استقر في مدينته دمشق وتوفي فيها.

Book Description
الغاية الأساسية من (السماع) هو التربية الدينية القائمة على التسامح وفهم روح الدين دونما إخلال بثوابته الأساسية. ولهذا كان الشيخ عبد الغني النابلسي يحترم شيوخ الطرق الصوفية ويجتمع بهم ويجلهم. علماً أنه لم يكن مقتنعاً (بالتصوف الشعبي) الذي يقوم على تلقين المريد بعض المبادئ في التصوف وعلى حفظ الأوراد والأذكار. ولهذا لم يكن النابلسي ضد الطرق الصوفية بل كان ضد السهولة التي تصور للمريد إمكانية بلوغه مراده بسرعة، ومن هنا كان يفضل الصوفي المخلص على الفقيه الذي تلقى ثقافة دينية سطحية، ليمارس من خلالها نفوذاً اجتماعياً كبيراً لتحقيق مصالحه الشخصية.
أما هذا الكتاب الذي يتضمن عشرة فصول يعرض خلالها النابلسي مراسم السماع وأسراره الروحية وقيمته في تربية المريدين.
والقيمة الكبرى لهذا الكتاب تكمن في دفاع النابلسي عن (السماع) سماع الموسيقى بالناي أو الدف أو الآلات الصناعية مدعماً رأيه بعض الفقهاء في إباحة السماع.
