لدى الحديث عن أجهزة المخابرات الإسرائيلية، لا نجد ضيراً في الإعتراف بقدرتها على العمل، على الصعيدين الداخلي والخارجي، ذلك أنها تتمتع بإمتيازات، ربما لا تتوفر في كثير من الدول، حتى الكبيرة منها، ومع ذلك فقد نهشها الخلل في السنوات الأخيرة وبإعتراف قادتها: "فالموازنات المرصودة مفتوحة على مصاريعها"، "والعاملون في الأجهزة مدربون على أعلى المستويات"، "واليهود المنتشرون في بقاع الدنيا، يضعون أنفسهم في خدمة الأهداف الإستخبارية الإسرائيلية، فضلاً عن أولئك المتعاطفين مع الدولة العبرية، من جنسيات متعددة، وعلى مستوى الرؤساء والحكومات، إضافة إلى التنسيق وتبادل المعلومات مع دول مختلفة"، "وعناصر أجهزة الأمن ينطلقون من عقدة الخوف التي حقنوا بها، ليس على صعيد التدريب فحسب، بل ومن خلال التربية البيتية والمدرسية والجامعية، الأمر الذي يعزز حماسهم للعمل".
ونحن أمام كتاب لــ"يعقوب بيري"، رئيس جهاز الأمن العام (الشاباك) السابق، يسرد فيه تأريخ عمله في الجهاز منذ البداية وحتى إنتهاء مهامه، ونحسب أنه لا يغطي كل الأحداث، ذلك أن مقص الرقيب كان جاهزاً، لإقتطاع ما "يمس أمن إسرائيل".
وككل المسؤولين الإسرائيليين، وخاصة المخابراتيين منهم، يحاول بيري أن يتخذ صفة "الرامبو" القادر على صنع المعجزات، ويلبس جهازه رداء فضفاضاً، يجعل منه خارقاً، ذلك أن القصد هنا، يقع في الدائرة الإعلامية، التي تمارس إحدى وظائفها، وهي بث الرعب في قلوب "الأعداء"، وربما الأصدقاء أيضاً.
ومع ذلك، فإن الكتاب طافح بالمعلومات، والأحداث والقضايا، التي تنشر لأول مرة، فيها من الإثارة ما يجعل القارئ متلهفاً على متابعته، وهو إلى ذلك، فرصة أمام أجهزة المخابرات العربية والإسلامية، للقراءة والإستنتاج وإستخلاص العبر.
