وفي الكتاب يتحدث العلاّمة النابلسي عن تجربته الشخصية مع الشهيد الصدر قبل مجيئه إلى النجف وبعد رحيله عنها، جلّها تتعلق بالشهيد، منها زيارته إلى لبنان وزواجه بإبنة عمه السيدة (أم جعفر)، وعلاقته مع علماء وأدباء لبنان وكواليس الخلاف بين لبنان ومنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، وخروج العراقيين من لبنان ومعهم الصدر (مع إخوانه إلى سوريا أولاً ومنها بعد ذلك إلى العراق) وأحداث أخرى وسمت بطابعها تلك الفترة منها موت (عبد الناصر) وبعده السيد (محسن الحكيم) مرجع الشيعة الإمامية في العالم، والخلاف الذي نشب (بين المرجعية وحزب البعث الحاكم في العراق) ووقوف الصدر (ضد الحكومة العراقية) وأحداث ووقائع أخرى عن نشاط (حزب الدعوة) ومواقفه السياسية مع نبذ عن مؤلفات وفلسفات العلاّمة الصدر يذكرها هذا الكتاب بعناوين متعددة نذكر منها: "حزب الدعوة والسيد الصدر" ، "تصفية الحوزة من العنصر الفارسي" ، "انفتاح الحكم على السيد الصدر" ، "الدعوة إلى مرجعية السيد العلنية" ، "نموذج من درس بحث الخارج لسماحة السيد" ، "مشروع كتاب الفتاوى الواضحة" ، و "دور السيد الصدر في إنجاح الثورة الإسلامية الإيرانية" (...) الخ.
