أمين الخولي: عالِمُ دِينٍ وأديبٌ وسياسيٌّ مِصْري، تميَّزَ بدورِه التجديديِّ حيثُ اقتحَمَ معاركَ التجديدِ لبعضِ القَضايا المعاصِرةِ حتى لُقِّبَ بإمامِ المُجدِّدِين، وهو زوجُ الأديبةِ المصريةِ عائشة عبد الرحمن المُلقَّبةِ ﺑ «بنت الشاطِئ».
وُلِدَ «أمين إبراهيم عبد الباقي عامر الخولي» في الأولِ من مايو عامَ ١٨٩٥م بمركزِ أشمون بمحافظةِ المنوفية، حفظَ القرآنَ مُبكرًا وهو في سنِّ عشْرِ سَنَوات، ثُمَّ الْتَحقَ بعِدةِ مَدارسَ بالقاهرة، وهي: مَدْرسةُ لا فيسوني، فمَدْرسةُ المَحْروسة، ثم مَدْرسةُ القضاءِ الشَّرْعي، التي تخرَّجَ فيها بتفوُّقٍ عامَ ١٩٢٠م وعُيِّنَ فيها مُدرِّسًا.
ابتُعِثَ إلى روما إمامًا للبعثةِ الدراسيَّةِ المِصْرية، ثم إلى برلين إمامًا للمفوضيةِ المِصْرية؛ مما جعَلَه يُتقِنُ اللغتَيْنِ الإيطاليَّةَ والألمانيَّة، وأُتِيحَ له خلالَ تِلك الفترةِ الاطِّلاعُ على إنتاجِ الكثيرِ مِنَ المستشرِقِينَ المهتمِّينَ بالدِّراساتِ الإسلاميَّة، ثم عادَ إلى القاهرةِ عامَ ١٩٢٧م، وعُيِّنَ عامَ ١٩٢٨م مدرِّسًا لِلُّغةِ العربيةِ بكليةِ الآدابِ جامعةِ فؤادٍ الأوَّل، على الرغمِ من عدمِ حصولِه على درجةِ الماجستيرِ في التخصُّص، ثم أصبحَ رئيسًا للقسمِ عامَ ١٩٤٦م.
أسَّسَ أمين الخولي بالتعاوُنِ معَ مجموعةٍ من طَلَبتِه ناديًا أدبيًّا أطلقَ عليه اسمَ «الأُمَناء»، وكانَ يهدفُ من خلالِه إلى الارتقاءِ بالأدبِ والفنِّ نظريًّا وعمليًّا، وكانَ من نتائجِه كِتاباه: «مَناهِج التجدِيدِ في النحوِ والبلاغةِ والتفسير»، و«مِن هدْيِ القرآن».
عُيِّنَ مُستشارًا لدارِ الكُتبِ المصريةِ عامَ ١٩٥٣م، ومديرًا عامًّا للثقافة، وبعدَ تقاعُدِه عامَ ١٩٥٥م اختِيرَ عضْوًا بمَجْمعِ اللغةِ العربيةِ بالقاهِرة.
ولأمين الخولي إنتاجٌ كبيرٌ كانَ له عظيمُ الأثرِ في حركةِ التجديدِ الدينيِّ في مِصْر، مِنْه: «المجدِّدونَ في الإِسْلام»، وسِلْسلةُ «مِن هدْيِ القرآن»، و«صِلةُ الإِسْلامِ بإصلاحِ المسيحيَّة»، و«تاريخُ المِلَلِ والنِّحَل»، و«مُوطَّأ مالِك»، و«فنُّ القَوْل».
تُوفِّيَ أمين الخولي عامَ ١٩٦٦م، ودُفِنَ في قريةِ «شوشاي» مَسْقطِ رأْسِه.
