هذا بحث يتصف بالرصانة والعمق والحيوية والجاذبية، فهو يقف عند عدد وفير من القصائد التي صاغها شعراء أخلصوا للشعر وتفانوا في نسجه ونجحوا في تطويعه للتعبير عن الإنسان والحياة، فشكلوا رافداً تجديدياً لحركة الشعر العربي على صعيد الأسلوب والمخيلة الإبتكارية والصورة والموسيقا والنسيج اللغوي وإثارة الأسئلة الكونية.
ويتميز بحث "فصل العيسى" من حيث علاقته مع ما كتب في مجاله بالإضافة النوعية والأصالة المنهجية: فقد انطلقت في مفهومها للشعر بأنه بناء من القيم وهو مفهوم دقيق يراعي الصفات النوعية للشعر ومسوغ وجوده، ورصدت النزعة الإنسانية عند شعراء الرابطة القلمية بإعتبارها جزءاً من ظاهرة أعم تطبع الشعر العربي برمته دون أن تنفي خصوصية الشعر المدروس بل خصوصية كل شاعر، ولم تنطلق من معايير مسبقة أو مصطلحات جاهزة من مثل رومانسية واقعية... إلخ.
وقد راعت في معالجتها للقصائد خصوصيتها الإبداعية والظروف والملابسات التاريخية والحضارية التي أحاطت بها مع تأكيدها الدائم بأن المادة المدروسة مادة فنية جمالية وأن قيمة الشعر كامنة في جدته وتفرده ونزعته الإنسانية، وأن التمرد والتجديد تعبير عن ميلاد رؤية جديدة للإنسان والكون تقتضي أسلوباً خاصاً؛ وقد عكفت "فصل العيسى" على دواوين الشعراء كافة وكانت حريصة على أن تسمعنا النبض المشترك لقصائد شعراء الرابطة مجتمعين والصوت الخاص لكل واحد منهم ومميزاته، وكل هذا مكنها من تحديد الظواهر وتحليل الأساليب ومميزاتها، ومن تحديد الأسئلة الرئيسية للبحث التي بدت مهمة ومتدرجة ومتماسكة.
