على الرغم من أن المكتبة العربية تعج بعشرات الكتب التي تدور حول علم التدريس من حيث: طرائقه، واستراتيجياته، ونماذجه، إلا أن كل هذه الكتب أو معظمها - على الأقل - قد تناول هذا العلم على المستوى النظري دون العملي التطبيقي، مما يجعلنا نزعم أن هذا الكتاب هو أول كتاب يدخل المكتبة العربية وقد تناول الجانب العملي في ضوء المعطيات النظرية، فيكون قد جمع بين الحسنيين، حسني النظرية، وحسني التطبيق وربط بينهما في إطار واحد كان نتاجه هذا الكتاب.
هذا، ويشمل الكتاب على أكثر من (40) نموذجاً موزعة على العائلات الأربع الرئيسة لنماذج التدريس (السلوكية، المعرفية، الاجتماعية، الإنسانية).
ويضم الكتاب بين دفتيه ستة فصول، يتناول الأول منها طبيعة التدريس، ويتناول الثاني النماذج السلوكية، ويتناول الثالث النماذج المعرفية، ويتناول الرابع النماذج الاجتماعية، ويتناول الخامس النماذج الإنسانية، في حين يتناول الفصل السادس نموذجين مقترحين من إعداد المؤلف، حيث يتناول الأول نموذجاً لتنظيم محتوى المنهج الدراسي، ويتناول الآخر نموذجاً لحل المسائل، وقد ذيل كل نموذج بخطة لتطبيقه في التعليم الصفي، كما ذيل الكتاب بملحق يتضمن اختباراً تحصيلياً في نماذج التدريس.
