* هو الدكتور محمد بلتاجي حسن بلتاجي حصل على ليسانس العلوم العربية والإسلامية مع مرتبة الشرف عام 1962م من كلية دار العلوم بجامعة القاهرة ، ثم الماجستير في الشريعة الإسلامية بتقدير مـمتاز عام 1966م عـن رسالـة ) منهج عمر بن الخطاب في التشريع ( من جامعة الـقاهـرة ، ثـم الدكتوراه في الشـريـعـة الإسـلامية مع مـرتبة الشرف الأولى عـام 1969م عن رسالة ) مناهج التشريع الإسلامي في القرن الثاني الهجري ) من جامعة القاهرة .
* عين معيدًا بقسم الشريعة الإسلامية بكلية دار العلوم ، وتدرج في الوظائف الجامعية حتى درجة ( أستاذ ) التي شغلها منذ عام 1982م .
* انتخب عميدًا للكلية ثلاث مرات متتاليات منذ عام 1986م .
* قام بتدريس علوم الشريعة في جامعات مصر ، والسعودية ، والكويت ، والإمارات ، والجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة ...
إلخ .
* قام بالإشراف على مائتي رسالة ماجستير وناقش أكثر من مائتي رسالة أخرى بجامعات متعددة .
* وقد شغل وظيفة رئيس قسم الشريعة الإسلامية بكلية دار العلوم ، كما شغل وظيفة مدير مركز الدراسات والبحوث الإسلامية بجامعة القاهرة .
* وقد نال العديد من الجوائز والأوسمة ؛ ومنها جائزة الدولة التشجيعية في الشريعة الإسلامية عام 1983م ، ووسام العلوم والفنون من الطبقة الأولى عام’1985م « لبحوثه في مجال الشريعة الإسلامية المقارنة » .
* كما شارك في الكثير من اللجان العلمية والمؤتمرات في عضوية لجان ترقية الأساتذة بجامعات مصر ، وقطر ، والإمارات ، وعُمان ، والأردن ...
وغيرها .
* وقد أسهم في أعمال مؤتمرات علمية كثيرة في الشريعة والطب الإسلامي والمعاملات المالية الحديثة ..
وانتخب ( مقررًا عامًّا ) لمؤتمر الفقه الإسلامي بالرياض عام 1976م .
* له أكثر من عشرين كتابًا مطبوعًا في الاقتصاد الإسلامي ، وأحكام الأسرة ، ومناهج الأئمة ، وفقه عمر بن الخطاب ، وأصول الفقه ، والدراسات القرآنية .
