يتناول الباحث "عزيز الخطيب" في هذه الدراسة قضايا البعد التاريخي بأبرز مظاهر الحياة الفكرية والعلمية والبلاغية إضافة إلى موجز عن الحياة السياسية والعلمية لعصر فخر الدين الرازي وبنيته ومدى تأثير الإنقسامات السياسية والخلافات المذهبية على العلم والعلماء مبرزاً دور الملوك والأمراء في تشجيع الحركة العلمية ومحاولاً رصد نشاط هذه الحركة في أهم الحواضر ببلاد المشرق الإسلامي مركزاً على أهم العلوم النقلية والعقلية.
وفي هذا العمل يبحث المؤلف في الرؤية البلاغية عند فخر الدين الرازي من خلال كتابه "نهاية الإيجاز في دراية الإعجاز". ولكي تتضح رؤية الرازي إلى البلاغة قسم المؤلف عمله إلى مقدمة وتمهيد وبابين وخاتمة.
في المقدمة تعريف للعصر الذي عاش فيه الرازي ولكتابه: "نهاية الإيجاز" من خلال الإطلاع على مخطوطاته، ومحققيه، وموضوعه وخطة الرازي فيه.
أما الباب الأول: فكان تحت عنوان: فكرة الإعجاز القرآني: تطورها وصلتها بالبلاغة العربية. وقد اشتمل على فصلين: الفصل الأول: الإعجاز قبل عهد القاهر الجرحاني للإعجاز القرآني وجهوده في البحث البلاغي.
وأما الباب الثاني فكان تحت عنوان: الرؤية البلاغية عند فخر الدين الرازي، وجهوده في الإعجاز والبلاغة. وقد اشتمل على ثلاثة فصول: الفصل الأول: الرؤية البلاغية عند فخر الدين الرازي: منطلقاتها وأبعادها، والفصل الثاني: الإتباع والتمثيل في البحث البلاغي عند فخر الدين الرازي، ثم الفصل الثالث: الإختلاف والتميز في البحث البلاغي عند فخر الدين الرازي.
يهدف المؤلف من وراء عمله هذا إلى اكتشاف رؤية فخر الدين الرازي البلاغية عموماً، ورؤيته لبلاغة عبد القاهر الجرحاني خصوصاً وهو بهذا يكون قد انجز بحثاً ذو بعد مقارن يخص مقابلة الرازي بعبد القاهر الجرحاني في المنهج وفي بعض القضايا البلاغية...
