ثم يتناول الكتاب واجبات المدرب وفلسفته وخصائصه ونظريات القيادة وفاعلين المدرب في القيادة وفاعليته وانسجامه مع الفريق والمبادئ الأخلاقية للمدرب وأثر ذلك على الفريق ثم يشير الى الخلافات التي تنشأ داخل الفريق والأسس التي يراعيها المدرب خلال وحدة التدريب وأسلوب أداء المدرب في الملعب واعتبارات المدرب عند تقديم الأداء وأسس نجاح عملية التدريب الرياضي ثم يؤكد على دور المدرب في الثبات الأداء الرياضي ودورة في الإعداد النفسي للفريق مثل المبادرة كما يتناول البرنامج التدريبي وخطة التنظيم وإجراء الوحدات التدريبية طويلة و الأمد كما يشير الى العوامل المؤثرة في تحقيق أهداف الإعداد النفسي وخطوات الإعداد النفسي للفريق وأنواع الإعداد النفسي ومؤثرات الحالة النفسية التميز ودور المدرب في الإعداد النفسي للفريق التدريب الرياضي عالي الشدة ثم ملاحظة الاستجابة والتنبؤ المحتمل والمراقبة والانتباه.
