إن علم القراءات من أجل العلوم قدراً، وأشرفها منزلة، وأرفعها مكانة لتعلقه بكتاب الله عز وجل، وكلامه المبين. وقد تخصص رجالاً من علماء المسلمين في علوم القراءات وأفنوا أعمارهم في خدمتها تعليقاً وتأليفاً وتهذيباً وتلخيصاً. والكتاب "صفحات في علوم القراءات" كتاب عنى مؤلفه بهذه العلوم، فجاء شاملاً جميع مباحثها، حيث جاء نتاج جهد المؤلف وتنقيبه في كتب المتقدمين والمعاصرين، جامعاً لما عثر عليه ومهذباً وملخصاً ما جمعه من مادة علمية، ومن ثم مرتباً ذلك ترتيباً علمياً للتناسق في المعلومات والترابط بينها ليسهل على طلاب العلم الاستفادة منها.
وفيما يلي عرض موجز للموضوعات التي تم التعرض لها في هذا الكتاب مقسمة إلى ستة فصول رئيسية وهي على التوالي: الفصل الأول: تعريف القراءات وتأريخها وقد شمل المباحث التالية: تعريف القراءات وتأريخها، نشأة القراءات وتطورها، أركان القراءات الصحيحة، القراءات الشاذة، حول حديث نزول القرآن الكريم على الأحرف السبعة. الفصل الثاني أوجه اختلاف القراءات وفوائده وقد شمل المباحث التالية: أوجه اختلاف القراءات الحكم والفوائد في اختلاف القراءات، معالجة بعض الشبهات حول القراءات. الفصل الثالث: شمل المباحث: تعريف الرسم وأقسامه وقواعده وفوائده، حكم الالتزام بالرسم العثماني. الفصل الرابع: الترتيل وبيان ركنيه وبحث في كل من: مفهوم كلمة "الترتيل" لغة واصطلاحاً، شرح الركن الأول: التجويد، شرح الركن الثاني: الوقف. الفصل الخامس: توجيه القراءات وبحث في كل من: التعريف بعلم الاحتجاج وتأريخه، صور الاحتجاج للقراءات. الفصل السادس: تراجم القراء وتناول ضمن مباحث ثلاث تراجم قراء القراءات المتواترة، تراجم قراء القراءات الشاذة، تراجم لبعض أعلام القراء.
