ولما انبعثت بلاد افريقيا من رقدتها على أعقاب الحرب العالمية الثانية اشتدت حاجة هذه البلاد إلى من يعرف العالم بها من جديد تعريفاً صحيحاً في ثوب قشيب، فتعين على أن أعمل ما يسد هذا الفراغ في المكتبة العربية، وأن أسقط عن علمائنا هذا الفرض الكفائي، فنشرت عام 1950م : (كتاب الإسلام في نيجيريا وعثمان بن فودي) فأثلج بعض الصدور الغليلة، وكشف اللثام عن هذه الجهات المجهولة.
