هذا الكتاب هو الكتاب السادس في سلسلة كتب المجالس الحسينية؛ والتي كانت قد تناولت محاضرات في شهر رمضان، وليالي عاشوراء، وسيرة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وآله عليهم السلام، ومجالس الدين والحياة، وكان آخرها في مجالس الحج والعمرة.
والكتاب عبارة عن ثلاثين محاضرة، توضع بين أيدي خطباء المنبر الحسيني الشريف، ليتسنى لهم توظيفها في مجالس التأبين، التي تعقد على ارواح المؤمنين والمؤمنات، الذين وفدوا على خالقهم الكريم تباركت أسماؤه. وهو ما جرت عليه عادة المسلمين من أتباع مدرسة أهل البيت عليه السلام، في اختتام أيام تقبل التعازي، بإقامة مجلس للوعظ والإرشاد، ينتهي بالتعريج على إحدى مصائب كربلاء الخالدة، مواساةً لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وآله الطاهرين عليهم السلام من جهة، وتعزية لأهل المصاب من جهة أخرى، وموعظة وتذكيراً لمن حضر من الأرحام والجيران والأصدقاء من جهة ثالثة.
