عندما نُحلِّل اليوم الحالة التي تمرُّ فيها شعوبُ "الإسلام العربي"، فمن المُمكِن أن نقول إنّ هذه الشعوب موجودةٌ، سياسياً، بغيرها لا بذاتها... ووجودُ هذه الشعوب بغيرها لا بذاتِها، إنّما هو نوعٌ من الغياب، وهي عمليّاً، ليست حاضرة على خريطة العالَم بإبداعاتها العلميّة والفكريّة، أو بمنجزاتها التقنيّة.
وليست شريكةً في التخطيط، على أيّ مستوى، لمستقبل البشريّة، إنّ حضورَها وظيفيّ تقوده الهيمنة الخارجيّة، فهي تابعةٌ لهذه الهيمنة، تبعيّةً ألغت حرّيّاتها، وشّوَّهت كينونَتَها... إنّها تعيش خارج الحداثة الكونيّة، على الرّغم من أنّها مُسْتَهلكةٌ أولى لجميع منجزاتها وبخاصّةٍ التقنيّة.
ومنذ السنة 2003 تعيش هذه الشعوب في حالةٍ قد لا يكون لها مثيلٌ في تاريخ الإنسان: إقتتال يلتهم فيه بعضها بعضاً، إنهياراً وتفكيكاً وتمزُّقاً، وبطرق وحشية، فرديّة وجماعيّة، تُجبِر الباحث على إعادة النظر في معنى الإنسان ومعنى الثقافة، ومعنى الحياة في هذه المنطقة من العالَم.
تنهض أهمية هذا الكتاب - الحوار على إختراق هذا الواقع الإسلامي - العربيّ، وعلى زلزلته في أصولهِ ومآلاته، تنهض، بتعبير آخر، على الطّاقة التي يصدرُ عنها رؤيويّاً ونَقْديّاً.
