لم تكتب هذه الرسائل بقصد النشر أصلاً، كما هو حال بعض المراسلات الأدبية الشهيرة عندنا، تقرر نشرها بعد وفاة عبد الرحمن بمبادرة مشكورة من سعاد قوادري منيف ومروان، ولا شك عندي بأن عبد الرحمن كان سيوافق لو سئل، فهذه المراسلات قصة صداقة، صداقة سابقة على بدء التراسل.
إلى الصداقة، تشكل هذه الرسائل شهادات نادرة عن عملية الإنتاج الأدبي والفني والعلاقة بينهما، يصمت الصديقان وتنقطع المراسلة بينما لأشهر إبان غزو الاميركي للعراق، يكسر عبد الرحمن الصمت شارحاً السبب: الحزن والإحباط، يعتصم عبد الرحمن بالحكمة الشعبية "إذا ما خربتْ ما بتعمر"، ويستقوي مروان بقول سعد الله ونوس "لقد حكم علينا بالأمل".
مشهد ختامي: مروان في مرسه الجديد ينتظر النور تنقشع عنه غيوم ألمانيا العنيدة: "المهم هو النور" يقول... ربيع 2011.. جاءنا النور...
نفّذ محمد بو عزيزي وصية ناظم حكمت: "إن لم أحترق أنا/ وإن لم تحترق أنت/ وإن لم نحترق جميعاً، كيف للظلمات أن تصير ضياء؟"...
رؤيا: ختم عبد الرحمن كتابه عن الباهي محمد مستشهداً بهذا النص الرؤيوي لصديقه، صديقنا المشترك: "يأتي الطوفان فيصير كل شيء ممكناً وتحذف كلمة مستحيل من القاموس، نوحٌ جديد يطيح الإتكالية البليدة السائدة، رجل وإمرأة تحدوهما الرغبة بالحب والإنجاب والعمل. يعمّران الدنيا الجديدة حسب ذوقهما ويملآن الأرض عدلاً بعد أن ملأها الناس جوراً... أين أنت أيها الطوفان العظيم"...
