هذا كتاب نفيس تحدث فيه المؤلف وهو الشيخ "حبيب بن موسى الرضا الأفشاري النجفي" عن أوقات وآداب الدعاء، بيان فوائد الدعاء وأسراره وذكر أسماء الله الحسنة وأعدادها، أوقات الدعاء، فضيلة يوم عرفة، فوائد أسماء الله، فوائد الكواكب والبروج، فضاء الحوائج المهمة، وبعض الختومات من القرآن والأذكار، في حل المشكلات، وشرح بعض الآيات وفتح الأعمال، (دفع الخصوم وتحقيق الفتوحات، دعاء للسعة في الرزق، في طلب الحاجة لجلب الثروة، ما يدفع البلاء والمرض، فتح الأعمال وتوسعه الرزق وقضاء الدين، في كتابة الحاجات وطلب قضائها).
كما ويضم الكتاب أدعية وأحراز لدفع البلاء والعداء وجور الحكام، هذا إلى جانب بعض التعاويذ لإبطال السحر، ودفع الحسد، والخطر، وتعاويذ أخرى وطلاسم لإبقاء بين الزوجين وحل المشاكل المستعصية وجلب الحبيب، وفي فصل خاص قام المؤلف بإثبات خواص بعض الأدعية والسور القرآنية وحروف الهجاء.
إنه كتاب جامع الفوائد في أسرار المقاصد، يجمع بين دفتيه شتى العلوم والأذكار المنقولة عن الرسول (صلى الله عليه وسلم) والأئمة الأطهار، وفيه أيضاً من الأذكار والأدعية المفيدة والمجرية على مر العصور.
جمعها ورتبها الشيخ حبيب بن موسى الرضا الأفشاري الأروميئي النجفي، الذي يقول أنه جمع مواد هذا الكتاب من بطون الكتب النفسية والمخطوطات القديمة من المكتبات المعروفة في النجف الأشرف واسطنبول وإيران لمؤلفين مشهورين من علماء هذا الفن وأهل العرفان وذلك خشية ضياع وإتلاف هذه النسخ القيمة وإندراسها.
