از دیدگاه مجموعه آثار سلین قصر به قصر کتاب به تعبیری پایانی و "حرف آخر" اوست. کتاب پیری سلین است، دوران هم پختگی و هم امیدباختگی، اوج قوام و انسجام زبانی و از سوی دیگر نهایت شکاکی و صراحت نویسنده که در آنچه میبیند و میگوید دیگر هیچ جای مجامله و تعارفی نیست. هرچه هست یقین است، چه ما را خوش بیاید چه نه. قصر به قصر از هر نظر دو کتاب پیشین، سفر به انتهای شب و مرگ قسطی، را کامل میکند و با آنها سه شاهکار بنیادین سلین را تشکیل میدهد؛
