ولد عام 1915 في كفريا - الكورة - لبنان.
تعلم في كلية اللغة العربية بالأزهر وتخرج فيها 1935, ونال الدكتوراه في الآداب من السربون 1950.
عمل مدرسا ومديراً لمدرسة ثانوية, وأستاذا بعدد من المعاهد والكليات في لبنان والكويت والعراق ومستشارا بتربية لبنان, وتقاعد عام 1983.
مؤسس المجلس الثقافي للبنان الشمالي, وعضو اتحاد الكتاب العرب, وأهل القلم بلبنان, واتحاد الكتاب اللبنانيين, وأن الدكتور علي محمد شلق (لبنان).
ولد عام 1915 في كفريا - الكورة - لبنان.

دواوينه الشعرية: تلفت اليمام 1960- الحرب ياعرب 1961- طعم الزمان 1984- ملحمة هنيبال 1941 - ملحمة محمد 1957.
أعماله الإبداعية الأخرى: وادي النمل (مسرحية) 1948- ذات الشعر الأحمر (قصص) 1958- هارب من باريس (قصص وتأملات) 1965- ثورة القبور (مسرحية) 1983- ثورة القبور (قصة) 1984- إلى جانب عدد من المسرحيات كتبها للتلفزيون اللبناني مثل جابر بن حيان, وأبوبكر الرازي, وجميل بثينة.
مؤلفاته: تتجاوز التسعين كتاباً منها: ابن الرومي في الصورة والوجود - أبونواس بين التخطي والالتزام - المتنبي - نقاط التطور في الأدب العربي - جميل بثينة.
نال عددا من الميداليات والأوسمة والجوائز
