محمد العيد بن محمد علي خليفة (1322 - 1399 هـ) = (1904 - 1979 م)
عالم، شاعر، كاتب.
تخرج في جامع الزيتونة بالجزائر، وساهم في حركة الانبعاث الفكري في الجزائر، عن طريق مزاولة التعليم ونشر القصائد والمقالات في الصحف والمجلات، كمجلة (صدى الصحراء) للشيخ أحمد بن العابد العقبي، و (المنتقد)، و (الشهاب) للشيخ عبد الحميد بن باديس.
وفي سنة 1927 م دعي للتعليم في مدرسة (الشبيبة الإسلامية الحرة) بمدينة الجزائر التي عمل فيها مدة اثني عشر عاماً، أسهم خلالها في تأسيس (جمعية العلماء المسلمين الجزائريين) وكان من أعضائها العاملين، وفي هذه الفترة نشر الكثير من قصائده في صحف الجمعية: البصائر، السنة، الشريعة، الصراط .. وكذا في صحيفتي (المرصاد)، و (الثبات).
ومما كُتب فيه: شاعران من الجزائر الأمير عبد القادر الجزائري ومحمد العيد خليفة/محمد رشدي حسن - القاهرة: مطبعة دليلك، 1392 هـ، 89 ص.
وقد صدر ديوانه بعنوان: ديوان محمد العيد محمد علي خليفة - الجزائر: وزارة التربية الوطنية: توزيع الشركة الوطنية للنشر والتوزيع، 1387 هـ، 602 ص.
