مسكويه (000 - 421 هـ = 000 - 1030 م)
أحمد بن محمد بن يعقوب مسكويه، أبو علي: مؤرخ بحاث، أصله من الري وسكن أصفهان وتوفي بها.
اشتغل بالفلسفة والكيمياء والمنطق مدة، ثم أولع بالتاريخ والأدب والإنشاء.
وكان قيما على خزانة كتب ابن العميد، ثم كتب عضد الدولة ابن بويه، فلقب بالخازن، ثم اختص ببهاء الدولة البويهي وعظم شأنه عنده.
وقال أبو حيان في جملة وصفه: (لطيف الألفاظ، سهل المأخذ، مشهور المعاني شديد التوقي، ضعيف الترقي، يتطاول جهده ثم يقصر، وله مآخذ وغرائب من الكذب - كذا - وهو حائل العقل لشغفه بالكيمياء.
اه (ألف كتبا نافعة، منها (تجارب الأمم وتعاقب الهمم - ط) أجزاء منه، في التاريخ، انتهى به إلى السنة التي مات فيها عضد الدولة (372 ه) ومنه نسخة كاملة مصورة في مؤسسة كايتاني وله (تهذيب الأخلاق وتطهير الأعراق - ط) و (طهارة النفس - خ) و (آداب العرب والفرس - خ) و (الفوز الأصغر - ط) في علم النفس، و (ترتيب
السعادات - ط) في الأخلاق، و (رسالة في ماهية العدل - ط) و (نديم الأحباب وجليس الأصحاب - خ) في مغنيسا (الرقم 1210) و (الحكمة الخالدة، جاويدان خرد - ط) رأيت منه مخطوطة في الفاتيكان (408 عربي) كتبت سنة 741 اسمه فيها (جاويذان خرذ) جاء في أوله: (نقله أوشهنج الملك لخلفه كنجور بن اسفنديار وزير ملك إيران، من اللسان القديم إلى الفارسي، ونقله إلى العربية الحسن بن سهل أخوذي الرياستين، وتممه أحمد بن مسكويه أذ أضاف إليه حكم الفرس والهند والعرب والروم) وفي مقدمته بعد البسملة: (قال أحمد بن محمد بن يعقوب مسكويه) وله (الأدوية المفردة) و (الأشربة) وغير ذلك.
وعاش عمرا طويلا .
