الإمام سعد الدين التَّفْتَازَانِي (722هـ - 792هـ)، عالم مسلم، وفقيه متكلم، وأصولي نحوي.
اسمه ومولده
هو سعد الملة والدين أبو سعيد مسعود بن عمر بن محمد بن أبي بكر بن محمد بن الغازي التفتازاني السمرقندي الحنفي، الفقيه المتكلم النظار الأصولي النحوي البلاغي المنطقي. ولد بقرية تفتازان من مدينة نسا في خراسان في صفر سنة 722 هـ في أسرة عريقة في العلم حيث كان أبوه عالماً وقاضياً وكذا كان جده ووالد جده من العلماء.
صفاته
كان السعد التفتزاني إماما من أئمة التحقيق والتدقيق فقد انتهت إليه رئاسة العلم في المشرق في زمنه وفاق الأقران، وبرز في النحو والصرف والمنطق والمعاني والبيان والأصول والتفسير وعلم الكلام وغيرها من العلوم، وكان يفتي بالمذهبين الشافعي والحنفي وانتهت إليه رياسة الحنفية في زمانه.

كتاب تلخيص المفتاح المشهور بالتلخيص الذي ألفه الإمام القزويني (ت 739 هـ) من أعظم المتون في علم البلاغة (المعاني، والبيان، والبديع)، وهو متن جامع مع صغر حجمه، كأنه ألفية ابن مالك في النحو، ولأهميته شرحه الأئمة عشرات الشروح والتي عليها عشرات الحواشي كذلك ..
من ضمن تلك الشروح "المطول" للإمام سعد الدين التفتزاني (ت792 هـ)، وهو كاسمه مطول، فاختصره وحرره التفتزاني بعد طلب كثير من كتاب تلخيص المفتاح المشهور بالتلخيص الذي ألفه الإمام القزويني (ت 739 هـ) من أعظم المتون في علم البلاغة (المعاني، والبيان، والبديع)، وهو متن جامع مع صغر حجمه، كأنه ألفية ابن مالك في النحو، ولأهميته شرحه الأئمة عشرات الشروح والتي عليها عشرات الحواشي كذلك ..
من ضمن تلك الشروح "المطول" للإمام سعد الدين التفتزاني (ت792 هـ)، وهو كاسمه مطول، فاختصره وحرره التفتزاني بعد طلب كثير من الأذكياء منه ذلك وجمع فيه الفوائد والاعتراضات في ألفاظ موجزة محررة وسماه المختصر (مختصر المعاني)، وهذا هو الشرح الذي بين أيدينا: مختصر المعاني شرح تلخيص المفتاح.
وهو مع وجازته فهو من الشروح فوق المتوسطة من حيث الصعوبة غير مناسب للمبتدئين، ويحتاج شرحا دقيقا من خبير بهذا العلم الجليل الذي يتجلى فيه إعجاز القرآن الكريم.
