تأتي هذه الدراسة ضمن جهود الناشر في الاهتمام بمكافحة الأمية وتعليم الكبار في الدول الأعضاء، من خلال برامجه وأنشطته المختلفة التي بذلت جهودها لتغطية هذه القضية بعناصرها المتعددة سواء ما يتعلق منها بالمنهج أو التنظيم أو العمل أو الإعداد أو توفير المعلومات.وقد جاءت الدراسة في سبعـــة فصـول، تضمـــن الفصــل الأول منها تعليم الكبار من حيث المقصـود منــه، وأهدافــه، وصفــاتــه، تأتي هذه الدراسة ضمن جهود الناشر في الاهتمام بمكافحة الأمية وتعليم الكبار في الدول الأعضاء، من خلال برامجه وأنشطته المختلفة التي بذلت جهودها لتغطية هذه القضية بعناصرها المتعددة سواء ما يتعلق منها بالمنهج أو التنظيم أو العمل أو الإعداد أو توفير المعلومات.وقد جاءت الدراسة في سبعـــة فصـول، تضمـــن الفصــل الأول منها تعليم الكبار من حيث المقصـود منــه، وأهدافــه، وصفــاتــه، وخصائص الكبار. أما الفصل الثاني فتعرض لنشـــــأة تعليم الكبار وتطوره، وقدم الفصــل الثالث نظريــات وفلسفـــات تعلــيم الكبار. واختص الفصل الرابع بمحو الأمية من حيث المفهوم والواقع وعلاقة الأمية بالتنمية، ومعوقات القضاء على الأمية، وتعليم الكبار ومحو الأمية في السعودية. وعرض الفصل الخامس للتعليم المستمر من حيث الأصول والمفهوم والأهداف والخصائص المستفيدين، واستعرض الفصل السادس التعليم عن بعد وأنماطه، وتجارب الدول في هذا المجال. واستخلص الفصل السابع برنامجًا مقترحًا لاستخدامات التعليم عن بعد في المملكة العربية السعودية.
