بحثٌ تعليميٌّ تربويٌّ، يجمع بين بيان آداب العالم والمتعلم، وبين منهج التعليم والتعلم، وما لا ينفصل التعليم في الإسلام عنه من التربية والأدب؛ ذلك أنّ تعلّم العلوم وتعليمَها على وجه صحيح، ومستوى عال يُخرج للأمة علماءَ كباراً ربانيين.
وقد بحث هذا الكتاب في تحقيق ثلاثة مقاصد: يتعلق أولها بالمتعلم في نفسه من جهة تنمية ذكائه وهمته واجتهاده، ومن جهة واجبه نحو أستاذه ودراسته، ويتعلق والثاني بالمعلّم في نفسه، ونحو طلابه، وكيف يكون قوياً في فنّه الذي يدرسه، ذا باع فيه، مُجيداً طرائق التدريس، متحلّياً بالفهم والإفهام، والثالث: ما يتعلق بالمنهج، وكيف يكون صحيحاً جامعاً، متكاملاً نافعاً.
وقد أتَت بين يدَي البحث مقدمةٌ في النية الصالحة في طلب العلم وتعليمه، وفضل الاشتغال بالعلم وتعلمه وتعليمه والحث عليه، وتلته خاتمة عن شرائط العالم الرباني المنتصب للدعوة إلى الله تعالى وآدابه، وآداب التذكير والوعظ، ووصايا مهمة لطالب الحق.
