من النوع التشويقي و تدور في ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين. يتم تناول الأحداث في ثلاثة محاور. اولهم حول امير مصري من الأسرة المالكة يعيش حياة مترفة في قصره بالمطرية و ينوي ان يمضي اجازته السنوية في رحلة صيد في غابات السودان. لا يكدر صفوه الا اقتراح من الملك له بشغل منصب سياسي ما. المحور الثاني يتناول مطاردة امير عثماني لخادمه الأرميني السابق، الذي صار في مكانة مرموقة في مصر. هذا من النوع التشويقي و تدور في ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين. يتم تناول الأحداث في ثلاثة محاور. اولهم حول امير مصري من الأسرة المالكة يعيش حياة مترفة في قصره بالمطرية و ينوي ان يمضي اجازته السنوية في رحلة صيد في غابات السودان. لا يكدر صفوه الا اقتراح من الملك له بشغل منصب سياسي ما. المحور الثاني يتناول مطاردة امير عثماني لخادمه الأرميني السابق، الذي صار في مكانة مرموقة في مصر. هذا الخط يتناول تداعيات ازمة التهجير الأجباري للأرمن اثناء الحرب العالمية الأولي و نزوح الأرمن الي الأراضي العربية. اما المحور الثالث فيتناول انتشار الشيوعية في العالم في ذلك الوقت و وجودها في مصر من خلال عملية مخابراتية تدور بين السوفييت و البريطانيين.
الرواية يتم سردها في تسعة عشر فصل، كل فصل يرويه بطل مختلف من ابطال الرواية، كل يروي الحدث من وجهه نظره، فتتوالي الأحداث برؤي مختلفة. الرواية تتخللها الأحداث التاريخية بكثرة، فمن تناول لغزو كتشنر للسودان، الي احوال الأراضي الفلسطينية وقت الثورة العربية، الي زفاف الملك فاروق
