كان الادب بعد اختراع الكتابة هو كل ما كتب لكي يصل الي الناس في عمومهم وادي انتشار الورق كمادة رخيصة نسبيا ومتوافرة للكتابة ابتداء من القرن الثانى الهجري – الثامن الميلادى الي نمو الانتاج الادبي في العالم الاسلامي بشكل لم يسبق له مثيل وواكب هذا النمو ازدياد في تقسيم هذا الادب الي ميادين متخصصة و مباحث علمية بيد ان الخطوط الفاصلة بين تلك الميادين لم تحدد ابدا وبشكل حاسم والي كان الادب بعد اختراع الكتابة هو كل ما كتب لكي يصل الي الناس في عمومهم وادي انتشار الورق كمادة رخيصة نسبيا ومتوافرة للكتابة ابتداء من القرن الثانى الهجري – الثامن الميلادى الي نمو الانتاج الادبي في العالم الاسلامي بشكل لم يسبق له مثيل وواكب هذا النمو ازدياد في تقسيم هذا الادب الي ميادين متخصصة و مباحث علمية بيد ان الخطوط الفاصلة بين تلك الميادين لم تحدد ابدا وبشكل حاسم والي حد ما ظل كل كتاب او رسالة الفت في العصر الاسلامي الوسيط تسمي ادبا مهما كان محتواها
