تمثل الرغبة جانبا مهما من ماهية الإنسان، إلا أن الفكر الفلسفي القديم و الحديث على السواء لم يخصص لها جزءا كبيرا يليقا بها؛ فحتى كانط اللذي انشغل بالإنسان في عمله النقدي لم يثر الرغبة كمشكل سابق أو لاحق على أسئلة المعرفة والعمل و الذوق.
إن الرغبة ليست بالكاد ما نأمل تحقيقه أو ما نحتاجه فقط لمجرد أنه يتميز بخصائص محددة؛ بل إنها ما تريده و تشتهيه من دون أن يكون ذلك مرتبطا بتفك تمثل الرغبة جانبا مهما من ماهية الإنسان، إلا أن الفكر الفلسفي القديم و الحديث على السواء لم يخصص لها جزءا كبيرا يليقا بها؛ فحتى كانط اللذي انشغل بالإنسان في عمله النقدي لم يثر الرغبة كمشكل سابق أو لاحق على أسئلة المعرفة والعمل و الذوق.
إن الرغبة ليست بالكاد ما نأمل تحقيقه أو ما نحتاجه فقط لمجرد أنه يتميز بخصائص محددة؛ بل إنها ما تريده و تشتهيه من دون أن يكون ذلك مرتبطا بتفكير عقلي أو بخصائص ملتصقة بالمرغوب فيه، فنحن نرغب من دون أن نقوى على تحديد لماذا؟ وحتى إذا تأتى لنا ذلك فإننا لا نستطيع إطلاقا تبرير بشكل موضوعي، مما يعني أن ميلنا إلى موضوع ما يكون بالأساس نفسيا و وجدانيا.
