The author was an Umayyad poet who revolted against the legists in poetry, which allowed the Arabic literature revolution in the Abbasid Period. The book is divided into two parts: a biography of al-Uqayshir with a summary of his personality and poetry; and sixty-four of his poems, sorted alphabetically by rhyme.
