خير ما يفسّر به القرآن ( كما ذكر العلماء) هو القرآن نفسه ، ويتأتى ذلك من وصف الله سبحانه وتعالى للقرآن بالكتاب المبين في عدة آيات تشير بمجموعها العام إلى السياقات القرآنية، وذلك لمجيئ القرآن على أسلوب ونظام وتأليف لم يُسبق إليه، ولم يأت بعده مثله، فمن مواعظ وحكم وأحكام وتشريعات ونظم وقصص وأخبار عن الأمم ، كل ذلك في سياقات يكمل بعضها بعضًا.السياق القرآني من الموضوعات التي عمل بها علما الأمة من عهد النبوة إلى عصرنا الحاضر، لما له من الأهمية عن كشف مراد الله، فلم يغب السياق عن المتقدمين بل تعاملوا معه، لأنه من كمال بلاغة لغتهم وعلو منزلتها.أما المتأخرون فكان اعتمادهم عليه أكثر بسبب قسم من التأويلات المنحرفة، والمطاعن الواهية، أو بسبب تعدد الأقوال التي وردت في تفسير الآية الواحدة، فمنها بسند ضعيف أو موضوع، أو لترجيح معنى على معنى..أو غير ذلك، فلهذا كانت الحاجة للسياق أكثر، فهو خير معين لكشف ذلك وإزالة اللبس ، ولحصول المعرفة وإظهار الحق ودفع الباطل
