لا يحتاجُ قارئ، أو عابرُ، بحار قاسم حدّاد، إلى وقتٍ طويلٍ لإدراكِ الوحشة التي تصيبُ الشاعرَ، وتبيّنِ الاختلاطِ بين أيّامه هذي وبين ذاكرتهِ وأشخاصِها، إذ يتحرّكُ الشاعرُ سريعًا كمن يريدُ تسديدَ ديون للتجربة، للحياةِ، للحاضرين ولمن كانوا حاضرين، للغائبين ولمن يستعدون للغياب. ابتداءً من الإهداء الذي اختار قاسم حداد أن يخصّ بهِ نجلهُ «مهيار»، مرورًا بأغلب نصوص المجموعة، يمرُّ لا يحتاجُ قارئ، أو عابرُ، بحار قاسم حدّاد، إلى وقتٍ طويلٍ لإدراكِ الوحشة التي تصيبُ الشاعرَ، وتبيّنِ الاختلاطِ بين أيّامه هذي وبين ذاكرتهِ وأشخاصِها، إذ يتحرّكُ الشاعرُ سريعًا كمن يريدُ تسديدَ ديون للتجربة، للحياةِ، للحاضرين ولمن كانوا حاضرين، للغائبين ولمن يستعدون للغياب. ابتداءً من الإهداء الذي اختار قاسم حداد أن يخصّ بهِ نجلهُ «مهيار»، مرورًا بأغلب نصوص المجموعة، يمرُّ بالناس كمن يريدُ السلامَ أو الشكرَ أو الوداع.
فقصائد الكتاب تبدو احتفائيّةً بالآخر. الآخر المساهم في إنشاء الذات وتكوينها.
يقولُ صاحبُ «يمشي مخفورًا بالوعول» في قصيدتِهِ «ثلاثون بحرًا للغرق»، والتي اتخذ منها عنوانًا للكتاب:
أيّتُهَا الحَيَاةُ النَّحِيلةْ،
بُكَائي طَويلٌ
وأخْطاءُ قَلْبي قليلةْ.
كُلُّ مَنْ غادرَ بَيْتَ الطُّفُولةِ
مُستَسْلِماً للرّحِيل
انْتَهَى نَادِمَاً
واستَعَادَ السّفيْنَةَ
في زرْقةٍ مُستحيلةْ.
لَيلي قَصِيرٌ
وقَلْبي عَلِيلٌ
ولَكِنَّ أحْلامَ حُبّي طَويلَةْ.

تتنوعُ قصائد «ثلاثون بحرًا للغرق» ما بينَ نصوصٍ نثريّةٍ، وقصائد حرّة، وما بينَ قصائد التفعيلة. ولا تختلفُ اللغةُ فيها، عن اللغة الرصينةِ الصلبةِ التي كتبَ فيها صاحب «الجواشن، والنهروان» معظمَ أعمالهِ الأدبية، التي فاق عددها الخمسة عشر.
