وعبر فصوله المتتالية: "نهاية الأيديولوجيا" ، "خرافة التعددية الثقافية" ، "ثقافة الجماهير والفوضوية" ، "المثقفون من اليوتوبيا إلى انحسار البصر" ، "جمالية كثيفة ووطنية رقيقة" ، وأخيراً: "الحكمة بالتجزئة والجنون بالجملة" ، يقدم جاكوبي إجابات عن الأسئلة المطروحة ، ويطرح سواها ، مؤمنا – في كل الأحوال – بأن المستقبل سوف يكون مختلفا عن الحاضر كل الاختلاف.
إنه كتاب معاصر ، يتصدى لمناقشة أهم الأفكار المطروحة في عالم اليوم.
