يضم هذا الكتاب ترجمة لمجموعة منتقاة من رسائلٍ شخصية لعالم الاجتماع الألماني ماكس فيبر في الفترة ما بين 1906-1917، وهي في معظمها ردود على رسائل وجّهت إليه، ولا تمثل وسيلة مهمة لفهم السيرة الذاتية والكتابات العلمية لفيبر فحسب وإنما مرآة لعصره من حيث كونها رصداً ناقداً ومقيّماً للحدث السياسي والاجتماعي على المستوى الألماني والأوروبي والعالمي. ويعود الفضل في جمعها إلى أرملته م يضم هذا الكتاب ترجمة لمجموعة منتقاة من رسائلٍ شخصية لعالم الاجتماع الألماني ماكس فيبر في الفترة ما بين 1906-1917، وهي في معظمها ردود على رسائل وجّهت إليه، ولا تمثل وسيلة مهمة لفهم السيرة الذاتية والكتابات العلمية لفيبر فحسب وإنما مرآة لعصره من حيث كونها رصداً ناقداً ومقيّماً للحدث السياسي والاجتماعي على المستوى الألماني والأوروبي والعالمي. ويعود الفضل في جمعها إلى أرملته ماريان، عالمة الاجتماع والناشطة الحقوقية، وقد عكف فيما بعد فريقٌ علمي متخصص من عدد من الجامعات الألمانية على تحقيق وتدقيق كل ما هو ممكن من هذه المراسلات الخاصة التي كُتب معظمها بخط اليد.
