الشيخ محمود بن عبد الرحيم صافي : من أعلام مدينة (حمص) السورية، وهو مؤلف أول كتاب كامل مفصّل في إعراب القرآن وصرفه وبيانه ؛ ويعرف باسم : ( الجدول في إعراب القرآن ، وصرفه ، وبيانه ) .
بعد أن أنفق فيه خلاصة عمره ،
ويُذكر أنه سلّم الكتاب للناشر ، ثم توفى بعدها بساعة واحدة ، وطُبع الكتاب بعد وفاته ،وكانت وفاته سنة 1985 م .

إذا قُيِّض لبعضهم أن يكونوا شاهدي عيان لما كان يجري من تغيرات على أرض البلد الشقيق سوريا العربي ما بين عامي 1918 و 1970، فقد قُيّضَ لنا، نحن الذين لم نشهد تلك الآونة، أن نكون أمناء على هذه الشهادات والسِّيَر، نضعها للتاريخ رصيداً حُراً، يعتمده أبناؤنا أو يعتبروا من عِبَره.
ولأنّ مصائر الشعوب وعامة الناس، أولئك الذين ارتضوا هذه الأرض العربية وطناً، مرهونٌة بهبوب ريح المطامع لا المطامح وحبٌ التسلّط والإستئثار، لا الإستنارة والإعتبار، فهذه الأرض بعينها لم تكن في نظر أهلها أو غيرهم من حُماتها مجرّد مسكنٍ مؤقّتٍ او ملجأٍ دائمٍ، بل كانت أكثر من ذلك، لان الأصالة العربيّة تفرض شعور الإنتماء والرسوخ.
