ضياء الدين المقدسي (569 - 643 هـ = 1174 - 1245 م)
محمد بن عبد الواحد بن أحمد بن عبد الرحمن السعدي، المقدسي الاصل، الصالحي الحنبلي، أبو عبد الله، ضياء الدين: عالم بالحديث، مؤرخ.
من أهل دمشق، مولدا ووفاة.
بنى فيها مدرسة دار الحديث الضيائية المحمدية بسفح قاسيون، شرقي الجامع المظفري، ووقف بها كتبه.
ورحل إلى بغداد ومصر وفارس، وروى عن أكثر من 500 شيخ.
من كتبه (الاحكام - خ) في الحديث، لم يتمه، ثلاث مجلدات، و (فضائل الاعمال) و (الاحاديث المختارة) تسعون جزءا، ولم يكمل، و (فضائل الشام) أربعة أجزاء، و (فضائل القرآن) و (مناقب أصحاب الحديث) أربعة أجزاء، و (سبب هجرة المقادسة إلى دمشق) نحو عشرة أجزاء، ويسمى (سير المقادسة) و (مناقب جعفر بن أبي طالب - ط) رسالة، و (الحكايات المقتبسة - خ) جزء منه، في كرامات بعض الصالحين
