يقدم هذا الكتاب الأرجوزة المختارة للقاضي أبي حنيفة النعمان بن محمد بن منصور بن أحمد بن حيون التميمي المغربي المتوفي سنة 363هـ. وهذه الأرجوزة تعالج قضية الإمامة التي هي من أهم القضايا في الإسلام منذ وفاة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى عصرنا الحاضر.
ونكتفي هنا بذكر أهمية هذا الكتاب، أولاً: إن أكثر الكتب عن قضية الإمامة التي ألفت في القرون الأولى من الهجرة النبوية قد ضاعت على أيدي الزمن. فهذه الأرجوزة من إحدى الكتب النادرة التي تلقي ضوءاً على موقف الفرق المختلفة من هذه القضية والأدلة التي قدمتها كل فرقة منها إما تأييداً لموقفها أو تنقيضاً لآراء مخالفيها. وثانياً: هذه الأرجوزة التي قد ألفت في أيام الخليفة الفاطمي الثاني القائم بأمر الله من أقدم النصوص الفاطمية في الإمامة. وقد دافع المؤلف فيها عن حق الأئمة الفاطميين في الإمامة ونقض موقف الفرق الأخرى خاصة أهل السنة والجماعة، المعتزلة والخوارج.
