كتاب سيد ضيف الله بحث جريء ودقيق ورائد، جريء لأنه يتناول شاعرا فذا لا يمكن توصيفه بكلمات معدودة، فكل توصيف لجوانيته المتنوعة اختزال و ابتسار. والبحث دقيق لأنه قراءة متمعنة و فاحصة للغة فؤاد حداد بظلالها و مجازاتها. و أما ريادة البحث فتحديدا تكمن في توظيف نهج نقدي أصبح يعرف بالنقد الثقافي. ويبدو لي أن النقد الثقافي برحابته وإمكانياته المتعددة مناسب لرحابة فؤاد حداد وهوياته كتاب سيد ضيف الله بحث جريء ودقيق ورائد، جريء لأنه يتناول شاعرا فذا لا يمكن توصيفه بكلمات معدودة، فكل توصيف لجوانيته المتنوعة اختزال و ابتسار. والبحث دقيق لأنه قراءة متمعنة و فاحصة للغة فؤاد حداد بظلالها و مجازاتها. و أما ريادة البحث فتحديدا تكمن في توظيف نهج نقدي أصبح يعرف بالنقد الثقافي. ويبدو لي أن النقد الثقافي برحابته وإمكانياته المتعددة مناسب لرحابة فؤاد حداد وهوياته المتنوعة و المتضافرة. وربما كانت مرونة النقد الثقافي عاملا في توظيفه عند بعض النقاد باستسهال شديد وأحيانا بتبسيط مخل أو بنقل تقليدي لمصادر وافدة، إلا أن البحث الذي نحن بصدده يقدم نموذجا رائدا للتعامل العلمي الجاد مع النقد الثقافي. وأرى أن اختيار الباحث لخطابات الرؤساء على تبانهم موفق؛ لأنه خطاب السلطة ومن موقع الرئاسة، بينما القصيدة خطاب الشاعر و من موقع الناس والغلابة. وعليه فالكتاب يتناول ضمنا علاقة المثقف أو المبدع بالسلطة. إن هذا التناو ل الموازي بين نصين أحدهما أدبي شعري والآخر تاريخي سياسي سيساهم في نموذج الدراست الثقافية متخذا من مصر القرن العشرين مجالا للبحث.
