‘What’s happening?’ asked Laila
‘The adults. They’re killing each other’ Parvana replied.
Fighting never ends in Afghanistan. Seasons end and alternate but the season of war neither ages nor ends.
Between the sounds of soldier footsteps and fighter aircrafts, Parvana continues her journey of finding life.
Her father departs this life and she buries him but never buries his books. On her way through the green valley, she finds some children, Laila, Asef and Hasan, who dream about life just like her. They strive to find life amidst the heart of battlefield.
It’s a biography of war written by Parvana through letters to her friend—letters that wouldn’t reach without flipping the pages of the book. Without us, how will the two meet by the Eiffel Tower after 20 years?
