Shalat Tarawih 23 Rakaat itu adalah pendapat jumhur (mayoritas) ulama. Hal itu merupakan ijma sahabat pada masa Umar bin al-Khaththab yang kemudian dijadikan pegangan oleh Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam al-Syafi'i, dan oleh Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal. Bagi saya, apa yang menjadi ijma sahabat itu tidak boleh ditentang. Imam Ibnu Abd al-Barr(w. 463 H)
Shalat Tarawih 20 rakaat merupakan ij Shalat Tarawih 23 Rakaat itu adalah pendapat jumhur (mayoritas) ulama. Hal itu merupakan ijma sahabat pada masa Umar bin al-Khaththab yang kemudian dijadikan pegangan oleh Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam al-Syafi'i, dan oleh Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal. Shalat Tarawih 20 rakaat merupakan ijma sahabat. DAna pa yang menjadi ijma sahabat itu lebih utama dan lebih berhak untuk diikuti. Imam Ibnu Qudamah(w.620 H)
Hadis yang shahih menyebutkan bahwa Ubay bin Ka'ab mengimami shalat pada bulan Ramadhan 20 rakaat dan witir 3 rakaat. Maka banyak ulama menyatakan bahwa hal itu adalah Sunnah, karena ia shalat di hadapan orang-orang Muhajirin dan Anshar, dan tidak ada seorangpun di antara mereka yang menentang hal itu.
