هشام بن عبد الله بن محمد الخامس ولقبه الأميري مولاي هشام (مواليد عام 1964، الرباط) أمير من الأسرة الملكية في المغرب، حفيد محمد الخامس أول ملوك المملكة المغربية بعد الاستقلال عن فرنسا، والده الأمير عبد الله الذي شغل منصب الممثل الشخصي للملك الحسن الثاني، الأمير هشام ناشط في الشؤون الاجتماعية، ولديه مقالات في العديد من الصحف حول القضايا السياسية، ويترأس "مؤسسة الأمير هشام" الناشطة في الحقل الاجتماعي لمنطقة شمال أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط، وهو من الشخصيات المغربية التي لها ظهور دوليًا، وتعتبره عدد من وسائل الإعلام من المطالبين بالإصلاح الديمقراطي.

لم يخشَ مولاي هشام العلويّ -ابن مولاي عبد الله بِكر محمد الخامس أول ملوك المملكة المغربية بعد الاستقلال- يومًا عن الإفصاح عن آرائه. فبعد أن أمضى طفولته الأولى في المدرسة المولويّة، مدرسة القصر، سأل والده الانتقال إلى المدرسة الأميركية، ومنها إلى إحدى كبريات الجامعات الأميركية العريقة: برينستون. نشأ مولاي هشام في رحم دار المُلك، فعرف قصورها ودهاليزها ورأى ما لم يُتح لكثيرين سواه مشاهدته والاطلاع عليه من أسرارٍ وتفاصيل لا يبخل على قراء كتابه هذا بسردها والتعليق عليها، بظرفٍ تارةً وبمرارةٍ مرات أخرى. من أول عهده بالتدخل كتابة في الشأن العام، جاهر مولاي هشام بوجهات نظره ونشرها على الملأ في شهرية لوموند ديبلوماتيك المعروفة بمواقفها التقدمية. فصُنّف منذ ذلك الحين في خانة المعارضين الخطرين رغم تأكيده المرة تلو المرة على قناعته بأن الملكية البرلمانية هي النظام السياسي الكفيل بأن يعيد المغرب إلى المغاربة وبأن يُغلق المخزن معقل الاستبداد. يكتب مولاي هشام سيرته بصراحةٍ لم تعهدها البلاطات العربية وبرؤية ثاقبة تطمح لبناء عالَمٍ عربي أكثر رخاء وإنسانية.
