كتب الأديب والشاعر الكبير الأستاذ ( عبد الرحمن صدقى ) فى مقال بمجلة ( الثقافة ) بتاريخ 14فبراير 1939 يقول :
انقضى نيف ومائة وستون سنة على وفـاة ( روسو ) ، وانصرف الأدباء وجمهرة القراءة عن مطالعة كتب ( روسو ) الأخرى ، ولكنهم لم ولن ينصرفوا عن مطالعة ( اعترافاته ) ، ذلك أن الآراء فى السياسة والاجتماع والتربية والأخلاق يدخلها التغيير والتبديل ، أما نجوى النفس ال عزيزى القـارئ :
